For those of you who guessed boy… Well… you were wrong! 😂 Baby Hughes number two is going to be a sweet little girl, and we couldn’t be more excited! Of course, we would have LOVED a boy, but we are just as thrilled to have a second daughter.
Gwendolyn (Baby Hughes Number #1) is pretty happy about having a little sister soon! I cut off one of the ultrasound pictures for Gwen to keep, and she has barely let go of it. She keeps singing to the picture, kissing it… It’s pretty adorable. For months now, Gwen has been singing lullabies to my tummy and giving the baby lots of kisses. Those kisses happen to be right on or near my belly button. It really warms my heart to see her so happy and excited.
At our ultrasound today, the baby did not want to show us anything! It was pretty funny. She was curled up in a little ball at the very bottom of my uterus for about ten minutes. The doctor had me get on my hands and knees and rock for a couple minutes, which helped.
One of my favorite things about pregnancy is being in the 20 week ultrasound and seeing my little blessing move around. This little nugget kept yawning, sucking her thumb, and trying to kick or punch away the doctor’s wand! She even had hiccups! It was sooo cute!!
The baby was measuring six days behind, but the doctor wasn’t worried about it and kept the due date the same. I was a tiny baby, Gwen was a tiny baby, I am STILL a petite person… We’re just gonna have another tiny baby. 🙂
I’ve still been pretty sick, but my medicine REALLY helps me function, and I am so grateful for it. I love my doctor, and I am getting more and more excited about having a second kid. After today, it felt more real. I’ve been feeling her move for a few weeks now, and the kicks and nudges have recently gotten quite a bit stronger!
In conclusion, I wanted to update all of my loyal readers! I’m so grateful for how much interest you guys have shown me through not just this pregnancy, but since I started the blog.
Thanks for reading!
P.S. Pictures attached will show Gwen holding pictures of her little sister, and the bump picture I took two weeks ago. 🙂
