An End to “The Tales and Princesses” Journey

Hello, everybody! It has been a minute. I have some bittersweet news for all of my readers. I didn’t completely know how to start this post, so maybe I should just jump right into it:

Originally, I had planned to write five books and three novellas to “The Tales and Princesses” stories. However, after three (almost four) books, and two novellas, I feel like we have come to an end of the journey.

“The Tales and Princesses” started out as my “practice” books in order to improve as an author. I feel like I have learned so much, thus making these stories a productive use of my time. And I know that I have touched the lives of many people with my books so far, and I am so grateful to have done that- even if it just had been one person. However, I feel that I should cease writing the series. Book Four is still scheduled for release, but Book Five and Novella Three will not be making appearances.

There are many reasons as to why I have come to this decision, but here are some of the main ones: This particular genre does not sell well and is not the genre I want to write in, and these really were my “practice” novels. That being said, I will be unpublishing this series once my new projects come to light. Don’t worry, everyone still has a few months to purchase the books he or she wants. But this leads me to the next part of my news (a good part):

I currently have HUGE projects in progress that I am EXTREMELY excited about, and all of my readers that I have gained through “The Tales and Princesses Series” will be the first to hear updates! And you all maybe even have a few more perks that I am not at liberty to discuss as of yet.

It’s important for me to mention that those who participated in the Kickstarter for the perk that included having a character named after the donor will still see that come to light in the fourth book. I have four special characters named after four AWESOME supporters! Be sure to grab your copies once it comes out. Again, Beasts and Princesses is still on schedule for release on November 30th!

I want to thank everyone for the unending support and love. You are all so great!

Well, that concludes my update. Thanks for reading!

  1. Hey Aleese! How are you doing? Madeleine mentioned the baby’s she watched backstage and yours was one. I have a 6 month old grandson and I have trouble keeping up with just him. So I guess this means you are also in the Christmas show? I am hoping to come see it soon. With the show, your writing, church going back to 2 hours and the kids it will feel very overwhelming at times. But I know you can handle it. I hope all is well with both your family and Aaron’s and that covid doesn’t hit all of you like it did the Duttons, although Abby said other than Dean everyone had a pretty easy time of it. I had it and was in the hospital for 6 days. But thankful I am well. Just hadn’t chatted with you probably since before my husband died. Not sure if you saw it on Facebook or if you are on Latter Day Ladies. Are you in 2nd ward or West? I am thinking West because I don’t recall having seen you in the hall in Branson building. I hope your depression and anxiety is being managed better than mine and that you are not struggling. Hope to see you soon. Sharon

    1. Hey! Thanks for your kind words. We just moved back into the Second Ward. We were in the West for a while. I’m glad that things are starting to look up for you 🙂
